Thanks to all participants, sponsors and spectators who made the 2010 Costa Mesa Community Run and Expo, sponsored by IKEA, such a successful event. Again more than 600 people ran or walked the 5K or 2K fun run.
J.D. Krawczyk of Westminster won the 5K in 15 minutes 21 seconds, holding off two-time defending champion and Estancia graduate Humberto Rojas. Rojas was second in 15:37; Costa Mesa High graduate Jason Rosello was third in 16:46.
Christine Appell of Huntington Beach won the women’s race in 17:57, 12 seconds ahead of second place Samantha Costantini.
Krawczyk and Appell each received a $250 first prize check from IKEA.
